MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) is a preservation project to save the software from old arcade games in a playable form for future generations.
In this torrent are the roms, hard disk images, and artwork for MAME 0.144 (still works with current version, 0.147 [as of 2012.12.11]). 18604 zipped rom files, 416 CHD files, plus ~7 GB of artwork.
I take only a little credit for this torrent, it is compiled from a collection of other torrents.  I just thought it should be available as one (giant) accessable repository (instead of the confiusing list of updates and versions I started with).

p.s. Due to the size of this torrent, it is crucial for the first people who finish downloading to seed at least as much as they downloaded, and not just "hit and run." [fingers crossed.]
p.p.s. Had to put in rars to make torrent file small enough to be accepted by TPB system.

Hey all..first i want to thank the uploader for a wonderful upload. Secondly if the people that have finished the download will seed for a while, and i complete download i will be glad to put them all together compress them down, and make them all fully operational right out of the door..Ofcourse all credit will go to the uploader for making it possible.. If this doesn't work out i will obtain all mame roms chd's artwork, etc.. and start a upload as well.. I hope all goes well..looking forward to bringing all the mame collection to life on TPB.. :)

got torrent finished WOW! THANKS for the upload. But i wont seed until i know its complete/correct...this just artwork , misc and chd's? i see no rom files. also checking now with cmpro...something either is wrong with my download or am i missing something?

CHD's are worthless. Glad I spent months dloading this (270gb total) torrent to find NO COPY of mame with this and v.144 DOES NOT use the CHD's, just the roms. Don't waste your time. Wish I hadn't.
